Tip #35: Feet On The Ground

Tip #35: When having a panic attack, use the grounding technique.

The why: The grounding technique can be found in many anti-anxiety textbooks, but it’s certainly worth a mention.

When feeling the onset of an anxiety attack:

List five things you can see

List four things you can touch

List three things you can hear

List two things you can smell

List one happy memory

This technique brings your body back to the world around you, and distracts your mind from the negative cycle of thoughts.

Let the light chase away the darkness.
